FISHER

Fisher is a Glynn Academy standout basketball player who graduated in 1987 after a stellar career with the Terrors.
He started his final three years at Glynn and led the Terrors in scoring all three years. Fisher averaged 16.6 points per game as a sophomore, 20.0 points per game as a junior and 29.4 points per game as a senior which ranks as the school’s all-time best single season scoring average. With a total of 1,578 points during his three-year career, Fisher is also the all-time leading scoring at Glynn Academy.
After high school, he played at Lake City Community College in Florida for two years. As a sophomore, he averaged 23 points and 10 assist per game and was selected to the National Junior College Region VIII All-State team. Fisher was recruited by Norm Sloan at Florida among others before going on to play at Jacksonville State University.
As the Jacksonville State starting point guard for two years, the 5-foot-9 Fisher led the team in assists both years, accumulating a career total of 298 assists. He ranked eighth overall in program history despite playing only two years. He also led the team in free-throw percentage both years, making 100 of 121 foul shots in 1990-91 for an .826 percentage and making 153 of 191 in 1991-92 for an .800 percentage.
Fisher passed away in 2018.
