The Glynn County Sports Hall of Fame named Brunswick High senior Elijah Wellman the Player of the Series as the Pirates won two of three games in the annual City Championship Series with Glynn Academy in baseball. Wellman, starting first baseman for BHS, brought home the eventual winning run for the Pirates in the second game of the series and then drove in the tying run to make it a a 2-2 score in the third game before playing a part in Brunswick manufacturing a run for a 3-2 lead with his base-running. BHS won the third game 4-2.
